Phoenixes I is now fully complete in that I finished the editing and it's now been fully posted on FF.Net. As soon as I get it formatted for submitting to different archives, I will be doing so... FF.Net is unfortunately the only archive that actually accepts NeoOffice files, and everyone's got different standards. *sighs* But Potions 'n' Snitches will probably get it first and HPFandom after that.

Next up is Phoenixes III. Unfortunately, this will be somewhat difficult as I only have the most minimal of outlines, so it will take some time to finish. However, the good news is that as far as I can see here, I have about half of the story completed in a notebook. I do have one or two chapters written yet that just need to be typed up before I can post them.

I was rereading P2, and need to finish doing that... but if I get hit with a sudden burst of inspiration, I will certainly write up a chapter for it. P2 was/is a very experimental fic for me -- I was playing with a certain genre of Snape/Harry stories (the ones like GSFI, but mine was to be a bit snarkier since I can't bring myself to write Snape quite like that, as much as I do enjoy GSFI and long for an update) and had no real plan for it other than an idea of where I wanted it to end.

Finally! At long last I can say that I have finished writing my first Phoenixes story. I completed Phoenixes I: Of Phoenixes this evening. I am going to go over the final revisions tomorrow, and then I will most likely pull the existing version and repost the final -- with updates probably coming twice a week or so since I don't want to inundate anyone's mailbox with e-mail notifications. All of the inconsistencies have been fixed, most of the cliches have been, if not fixed, then at least lessened, and my poor punctuation of dialogue has been revised.


Words cannot express how very excited I am about this. It's my first ever finished multi-chapter fic.


I will probably tackle Phoenixes III next as that one has an outline lying around here somewhere as well as chapters that merely need to be typed up. It's shorter because I've been writing it in a notebook rather than typing it, and what looks long on paper, really isn't once you type it. So, yes, there's that, and it's next to P1 in terms of how complete it is.


P2 is indefinitely on hold, and will probably be pulled and replaced by a different story of mine that does fit the Phoenix motif, but is so very far from complete that I won't be doing it until I get much, much farther along.

I've uploaded one new chapter and a couple of new stories...


Conversations with the Hat: I added a second chapter because the fancy to do so struck me yesterday. I will probably add the Marauders eventually, but it is indeed complete as is.


Madness: I used to keep a second account around FF.N for the purposes of writing stories with a different slant than my usual ones. I'm dropping that account and am therefore bringing those stories to this one. It's an old one, written from Bellatrix's POV while she's in Azkaban.


Death Eater: Same goes for this story. It's now very much AU, written from Snape's POV about what it means to be a Death Eater and a (then possible) explanation for why he might've turned to the Light. I wrote it before we even knew what the title of Book 6 would be, which is why it is what it is.


Misc. Updates:


I've joined the Snape After DH Fest, and the prompt I've taken is Snape as a ghost. I've had a post-DH story to fill in the holes between the last chapter and the epilogue percolating, and I'm going to use it as my base, and that's all I'll say about that till the time to post comes!

Well, after a multi-year absence, I'm returning to fandom. I've kept up with a few stories here and there, but otherwise haven't really paid much attention. I'm looking forward to getting back into things.


Just a few notes...


1) With the release of DH, I'm going to do complete overhauls of my Phoenixes stories. They need it anyway.


2) I'm in the process of writing a new story. I have no intention of publishing it until it's much closer to being completed. In all likelihood, it will probably spawn a series of its own. It's AU and begins on October 31, 1981. That's all I'm going to say on that for now.


3) I have a new ship. Hermione/Snape. No idea where that came from. I always thought it a bit off since Hermione and Ron are clearly canon. But, yeah, I enjoy the stories, and like the vast list of new ones open to me now. I prefer writing gen, though, so I probably won't write anything, which, in all honesty, is for the best.


4) I'm looking for a fic! It's quite old by now and AU multiple times over. It features Snape as a ghost. He was killed by Voldemort for being a spy, and he's rather dismayed to find that he's a ghost. He left Harry a letter or something explaining... lots of things. Snape had been taken in by James' family... or maybe he and James were cousins. Something like that. Anyways, there aren't very many Snape-as-a-ghost stories out there, so you'd think it'd be easier to find, but so far I've had no luck -- I desperately hope it wasn't ever pulled because it was a good read.
